Jeffrey E. Barnhart – President & CEO


Jeffrey Barnhart, founder of CMA, has more than 25 years of experience in strategic marketing, advertising, public relations, direct response programs, sales promotion, association management and event marketing.

An award-winning agency executive, industry leader and marketer.
Jeff is a featured speaker and columnist on various marketing and communications topics. He has been named Small Business Person of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce of Princeton, NJ, and was appointed to the Small Business Council of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He was also named a regional finalist for Inc. magazine’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Prior to founding CMA, Jeff spent eight years as a marketing executive at Philips Lighting, where he spearheaded the successful marketing and sales integration of three Philips Lighting Company mergers and played a key role in launching one of the first energy-efficient, environmentally-beneficial lighting products in the US market.

Successful navigator of business issues
An avid boater and fisherman, Jeff currently holds a Masters Captain’s License from the U.S. Coast Guard. An expert at navigating his way through challenging business climates, Jeff’s results-driven strategies have helped launch start-up businesses and associations, and provided sales growth and profit enhancement to small companies and established blue chips.

In 1990, Jeff co-founded the International Card Manufacturing Association (ICMA), providing a networking and educational forum for professionals from 700 member companies in the plastic card manufacturing industry, which includes cards for financial transactions, memberships, employment and licenses.

Jeff also played an instrumental role with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Green Lights initiative—which has since emerged to become today’s well-known EPA Energy Star program—in which he worked closely with the U.S. EPA to develop a communication program designed to educate and create awareness of the benefits of energy-efficient facilities and building energy systems to the top 1,000 U.S. corporations.

A believer in giving back to the community
Jeff served as a member of the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of Central New Jersey. He served two terms as president of the Central Jersey Regional Chapter of the American Diabetes Association and was a patron of the Eden Dreams Event benefiting children with autism, as well as many other worthwhile causes including involvement with the Special Olympics of New Jersey. He also was a founding partner in the Rutgers Family Business Forum.

Jeff earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Rider University and presently serves on the Rider University Communications Advisory Board.

Burt Lambert – Executive Vice President, CFO


Burt Lambert is responsible for all CMA financial operations, investment research and planning. He oversees the financial management of all CMA marketing and association client accounts, as well as company information management systems, purchasing, facility management, human resources, benefits administration, legal issues, strategic planning and company policy-making.

Over 25 years of management experience
Burt’s prior experience includes positions at Merrill Lynch/Pierce, Fenner & Smith of Lawrenceville, NJ, where he served as a financial consultant responsible for overall business development and investment/financial planning for over 400 accounts valued over $10 million. In addition, he supervised manufacturing operations, managed varied aspects of human resources, and spearheaded troubleshooting and systems implementation at General Motors Corporation in Trenton, NJ.

The nerve-center of CMA
Playing an integral role in the success of CMA and its clients, Burt’s attention to detail and thoroughness have proven to be vital assets in all aspects of daily business operations.

Aviation training helps him see things from the ground up
In addition to his professional expertise, Burt has substantial aviation training and applies the vital attention to detail required to fly planes to the financial aspects of CMA and to all of the businesses and associations with which we have an opportunity to work.

Burt earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Rider University. He is also a member of the International Association for Financial Planning, the American Management Association, and the American Association of Individual Investors.

Rob Jones – Senior Vice President and General Manager


Rob Jones brings to CMA clients almost 30 years of strategic marketing and corporate sales expertise across a variety of industries. Leading individual account teams, Rob develops and engineers strategic marketing programs to ensure that marketing and association management client objectives and goals are met, and that growth and profitability are achieved.

A highly regarded business strategist and leader

Rob has worked with large and small business start-ups and established Fortune 50 corporations, for whom he provided significant strategic direction and executive management.

Increasing business and revenue
As the former vice president of marketing services for a Johnson and Johnson company, Rob was responsible for market research, product development, advertising and promotion, as well as professional relations. Specializing in wound closure technology, the company enjoyed significant growth of market share under Rob's direction. This same approach to increasing business has been applied to all CMA clients with whom Rob works.

A marketing professional, and professor
In addition to his role at CMA, Rob is a professor at two Pennsylvania universities, where he teaches at the graduate and undergraduate level. A major asset to CMA, Rob transfers the skills necessary for teaching and applies a similar learning dynamic and principles to daily business operations in terms of directing and implementing client management and growth.
Rob earned his Master of Business Administration degree in Strategic Planning from Harvard University Graduate Business School, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Howard University, Washington, DC.

Albert Vrancart – Vice President of Marketing


With more than 30 years of marketing experience, Al has diversified global experience in strategic analysis and implementation of business plans, having full profit and loss responsibility over each.

Vast marketing experience, leadership abilities and problem-solving skills
Prior to CMA, Al served as president and CEO of a leading manufacturer of secure plastic transaction, identification and promotional cards. Al was responsible for all aspects of its North American card services business units located in New Jersey and Toronto, Canada, including sales, marketing, finance, manufacturing, and information technology. Al played an integral role in increasing the company’s U.S. business sales, helping to double its earnings.

In addition to his experience in the plastic card industry, Al held various International and US executive marketing positions in his 16 years with Philips Lighting, the leading global manufacturer of lighting products. He was an integral team player in launching and positioning the Philips brand in the US lighting market. He first launched the energy efficient compact PL and SL fluorescent lamps and color enhanced TL80 fluorescent lamps into the US market. Al also took the lead on other product launches such as Philips Halogen and MR 16s and automotive aerodynamic headlamps.

Recognized leader and visionary, helps clients achieve successful turnarounds
In what has been a very challenging marketplace, Al has assisted a variety of start-ups and established companies with new business development efforts. A recognized leader and visionary in the plastic card industry, Al is co-founder of the International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA), a worldwide non-profit association composed of plastic card manufacturers and personalizers. He had the honor of serving as the association’s first president, from 1990-1993, and continues to sit on the organization’s Board of Directors. He brings deep experience in association leadership to CMA’s professional and trade association clients.

Sports car enthusiast helps businesses get off to a good start
A long-time hobbyist and restorer of classic cars, Al is able to take an organization, revitalize it and quickly move to implement solutions that will help the organization continue to expand and profit.

Al earned his Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing Finance from Monmouth University, New Jersey, and a Business degree from Ryerson University, Canada in this same field.

David Sherwood – Vice President, Creative Director


Dave Sherwood is the vice president, creative director for CMA. He is responsible for the agency’s conceptual and design development for all facets of marketing and association management client communications, sales materials and corporate and brand identity programs.

Powerful team player
Dave is a key creative force at CMA and a catalyst for integrating client account management with creative development and implementation to achieve client-marketing objectives. Dave is a creative liaison for the agency, whose role is instrumental in successfully capturing a client’s vision and in turn, communicating that to the target public.

Award-winning creative talent
He has been driving the designs and graphic identities of CMA client communications almost from the agency’s inception, providing award-winning creative and art direction for many of the firm’s industrial, business-to-business and consumer clients. Dave has won more than 130 awards for his design efforts from such industry professional organizations as the New Jersey Advertising Club, the New Jersey Communications, Advertising and Marketing Association, the Jersey Shore Advertising and Public Relations Society and the International Association of Business Communicators.

Dedicated and disciplined
A passionate sports fan and participator, Dave is accustomed to tackling any situation with attention to detail, as well as skilled in the ability of performing to the highest potential in high-pressure situations. Given the detail and deadline oriented nature of his position, Dave’s strengths outside of his professional life enable him to contribute to the design and implementation of creative programs that are on target with client expectations the first time around.

Dave graduated from Kean University in New Jersey with a BFA degree in Professional Level Design Studies.

Christian Horn – Vice President, Marketing Communications


With two decades of communications experience in agency and corporate settings, Christian Horn is a versatile concept/copy strategist who writes for a variety of business-to-business and consumer clients. His responsibilities include creatively providing marketing and association management clients with targeted messages that lead to increased sales.

Creative urgency and strategic synergy

Christian effectively takes on marketing challenges by accurately conveying client messages across all communications materials. Clients who review his work will quickly note that his style is one that effectively blends creativity with strategic messaging. Christian persuasively communicates on-message deliverables, creating bolder branding and stronger positioning statements for his clients. He applies his expertise across a wide variety of clients ranging from electronics and professional services to healthcare and energy solutions.

Christian’s creativity has been recognized with numerous marketing industry awards for marketing communications campaigns, print, broadcast and collateral copywriting, direct marketing, speechwriting and public relations. His award-winning abilities are evident through all of his communication strategies for a wide range of clients.

A theatre enthusiast and author of several regional theater and off-Broadway plays, Christian applies this interest towards his writing skills and zest for creativity in the workplace, providing clients with attention-getting concepts and copy that yield successful campaigns.

Christian earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Theatre from Trinity College, Connecticut.
