CMA’S STRATEGIC EXPERTISE SETS PACE FOR DEVELOPING ASSOCIATION’S GREEN STANDARD

PRINCETON JUNCTION, NJ – November 10, 2008 – CMA Association Management, the Princeton Junction, New Jersey-based full-service association management, marketing and event planning firm, formulated strategies to help create a Green Task Force for the International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA), with the intention of developing an environmentally responsible standard for card manufacturing. Members of the association will gather to discuss the new initiative as part of a November Task Force Meeting at the Philadelphia Airport Sheraton Gateway Suites in Philadelphia, PA on November 18, from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.

The Green Task Force, assembled by CMA’s executive advisors, will be comprised of ICMA members and other industry stakeholders including card manufacturers, personalizers, issuers, material and service providers, equipment suppliers and others. Several meetings will follow the initial November meeting with the goal of developing a standard in 2009.

CMA’s President and CEO, Jeff Barnhart and Vice President of Marketing, Al Vrancart, founded ICMA in 1990 in an effort to provide a forum for which professionals in the card manufacturing industry could network, monitor and report on industry happenings. ICMA is a global non-profit association that they helped grow from seven members to more than 230 member companies including plastic card manufacturers, personalizers, issuers, suppliers and other industry participants nationally and internationally.

“CMA has been managing associations for over 20 years and our expertise in green marketing and strategy continues to help associations such as ICMA change and grow with this significant global trend,” said Jeffrey Barnhart, President and CEO of CMA.

CMA works with various trade and professional associations to provide event, administrative, financial and member services management, supported by comprehensive strategic marketing communications programs with the goal of driving membership and increasing conference attendance. Using CMA’s innovative marketing analysis techniques and planning processes, the firm transforms research, industry trends and market forces into compelling positioning messages and creative products to help associations realize their full potential.
